The South Florida apartment was evacuated after being deemed structurally unsafe

According to CNN, residents were forced to vacate an apartment building in North Miami Beach on Tuesday afternoon after being deemed structurally unsafe.

The Beveau 60 homes, located at 168th Street, 3800 Northeast Florida, were evacuated when the owner called on the city to take action after inspecting the building.

According to NBC6, the apartment building, built in 1972, has been undergoing renovations since July, 2021 to prepare it for a 50-year re-inspection.

Residents were told Monday they would have to leave the apartment but be able to return for their belongings on Tuesday morning.

The move follows another North Miami apartment building called Crestview Towers that evacuated its occupants. A report found that the building was also structurally damaged.

Beaview Surfside sits just three miles north of the Condo Tower, which partially collapsed on June 24, 2021.

It was a tragedy that 98 people died when inspections discovered that the building was unstable and there were many violations of life.
