DeLorean Motor Co. Inc. Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegans plans to unveil its new electric delurium on the August 18 awards ramp.
The company released a teaser image of the concept car this week, showing the car’s rear taillights and left shoulder.
The prototype will be unveiled on August 21, three days before the launch of the concept lawn, the company said. The names of the new generation of Delorians will also be revealed in August.
While it will be a brand new car, the car will feature classic Delorian doors, such as the Gul-wing door, says Delurian Motor CEO Just de Vries. Automotive News.
The company aims to mass-produce the car and is looking for a location in North America for its factory. Despite this, de Vries says the company expects to deliver the first consumer vehicles by the end of next year.
For more than three decades, DeLorean Motor Co. LLC Classic is operated by Stephen Owen at Humble in Texas as a service and recovery store for Delorians.
DeLorean Motor Co. Inc. Hall is a new company with new management based in San Antonio that focuses on creating new models.
The new company is funded entirely through private equity and de Vries will not disclose to any specific investor. It will require another round of financing sometime this year.
The company has more than 100 employees and will focus on hiring more as soon as production starts with a target of at least 450 people.
