Meghan Merkel’s song request to Idris Elbar when she DJed at Prince Harry’s wedding

Idris Elba reveals that Meghan Merkel requested to play a Doctor Who song while DJing at the royal wedding.

The actor, 49, and his wife Sabrina Elba attended an important wedding in 2018 and he was in charge of the tune after the wedding of The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry.

While co-hosting Tiffany Calver on the BBC Radio 1 Extra rap show, she shared which song Meghan wanted to hear.

“But DRE by Dr Dre is off! It was Meghan’s choice, ”he said when asked about his dizzying experience.

Like Luther, Marvel Cinematic Universe, and The Suicide Squad, Idris is not only a talented actor, but also an experienced musician.

She has released many songs and featured on hit tracks such as Proud, Dance Off and many more.

Before he started acting properly and found worldwide fame, he was a DJ.

Idris showed his love for Deck in his Netflix series Turn Up Charlie, which was canceled a season later.

At least those who were present at the royal wedding got a glimpse of the actor’s DJ.

Other celebrities at the wedding include George and Amal Clooney, Oprah Winfrey and Serena Williams.

Idris had previously discussed what it was like to have a deck at Meghan and Harry’s wedding and even called it ‘stressful’.

The Luther star claims that despite his experience as a DJ at a celebrity party, he was sent a playlist to follow before the show.

He admits – Berkshire’s wedding celebration at Frogmore House in Windsor was his “most stressful” DJ Gig.

“It wasn’t at the community hall – at the reception. It was a big, big deal, “Idris explained.

“Megan sent me a playlist, so I knew in advance what she wanted.

“They were good friends and I wanted to make sure they were having a great time, so there was a lot of pressure.”

Recently, Idris revealed that he hopes to collaborate with singer Adele one day.

Idris presented her with The Brit Award for Best Album of the Year and said that working with her would be a dream come true.

He explained: “If one day I make a record and Adele says, ‘I like it’, I must have the courage and say, ‘Hey, Adele, do you want a collaboration?’

“I think I need to earn some more stripes before this happens.”
